Christina DiGiuseppe

Christina DiGiuseppe is a passionate dance artist, choreographer, and mentor based in Toronto, Canada. Known for her innovative and dynamic artistry, she is a creative force who continuously challenges the limits of movement and expression in the ever-evolving world of dance.

With over two decades of experience, Christina has choreographed for international stages, numerous industrial performances across Ontario, and independently produced and choreographed multiple professional dance productions. Christina has been a part of the Toronto Fringe Festival twice with her shows La Femme Kabarett and Juxtapose, both representing dance on the festival’s platform. She was also invited to showcase her choreography at the American Dance Guild Festival in New York City, representing Canada in modern dance. In 2015, she was selected as a finalist in the Capezio ACE Awards for Choreographic Excellence, and in 2014, she was awarded the Choreographer’s Connection Grant by Regional Dance America, where she worked alongside Miss Nelly Van Bommel as an emerging artist. She has also presented work at Nuit Blanche Toronto, further cementing her presence in the city’s contemporary arts scene.

Beyond performance and choreography, Christina is deeply committed to mentorship and education. Christina holds a business diploma and teacher certification from Broadway Dance Center in New York City, blending her expertise in both the dance industry and education to build and sustain dynamic programs.

She has also studied children’s mental health, recognizing the importance of nurturing both the technical and emotional well-being of young dancers. Christina has served as an adjudicator for dance competitions across Canada and has mentored young dancers through intensives, residencies, and training programs. She was a mentor at the VIEW Dance Challenge Greece Intensive for three summers (2022–2024) and has taught and choreographed extensively for dance studios and arts high schools, guiding the next generation of dance artists. Many of her students have gone on to attend prestigious institutions around the world and have established themselves as choreographers, artists, and performers.

As the founder and artistic director of Emerge Dance Project, Christina has created a program that reflects her lifelong passion for inspiring and mentoring young artists. Emerge Dance Project is more than a dance intensive; it is a safe space for dancers to explore, take risks, and develop their artistic voice. With the wealth of experience and knowledge she has cultivated over the past 20 years, Christina is dedicated to creating an environment that nurtures the growth and artistic development she believes every dancer deserves, drawing from her own experiences to offer the guidance and support that will help young artists thrive. She looks forward to shaping Emerge Dance Project for years to come, crossing paths with extraordinary dancers and artists, and creating a long-lasting, inspiring community.
